Amazon.com Product Description The ProMedia 2.1 THX-Certified, three-piece computer audio system from Klipsch transforms your desktop into a high-performance audio entertainment center. Two 35-watt satellite speakers deliver full-bodied stereo sound, while a floor-thumping 130-watt subwoofer provides low-end slam from your favorite music, games, and movies, reaching down to an impressive 31 Hz. The satellites' exclusive Klipsch MicroTractrix horn maximizes clarity and high-frequency dispersion from CDs, MP3s, streaming radio programs, and other audio. The high-output, digital-hybrid-amplifier-driven ProMedia 2.1 offers a convenient headphone jack and dual stereo analog inputs, one for a more or less hard-wired connection from your computer's line or headphone output jack, the second to accommodate a portable audio device such as an MP3 or minidisc player/recorder. Klipsch operates with a philosophy that demands accuracy in every aspect of sound reproduction, which--in the case of the ProMedia 2.1--has resulted in THX Certification. THX is an exclusive set of standards established by the world-renowned film production company, Lucasfilm Ltd., and products undergo rigorous quality and performance tests in order to receive this certification. What's in the Box Two satellite speakers, one subwoofer, two 9.5-foot lengths of speaker cable (22 gauge), a user's manual, and warranty information.

GOOD SOUND POOR QUALITY DIY PLUG March 8, 2010 G. Vereschagina (Ukraine) I enjoyed the sound of the speakers till one day I moved around the subwoofer and the DIY plug connecting the speakers and the subwoofer broke. Apparently, many other reviewers on this website experienced the same issue.
I haven't used it for more than a year since then. Then one day I decided to browse for the replacement parts, and found on ebay a replacement cord, for $14 with shipping. According to the description, you just need to "splice the wires off and twist the colored wires from one cable to the other matching the colors as you go and then just tape them all off". Sounds simple enough ;-) So I ordered one immediately. Hope it will work.
If you want to follow my experience, just browse for "Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System DIY plug", and the first link from ebay is the one you need.
Awesome Upgrade February 24, 2010 Julia Tran (Oklahoma) Had a pair of really old speakers before I upgraded to these. Wow! The difference is incredible! Booming bass, crisp sounds, no wonder these were THX certified. Only gripe I have is that the power switch is behind the subwoofer, not on one of the satellite speakers, but not a huge problem for me since I rarely turn them off, they're so good!
Great speakers February 17, 2010 S. Cross Prior to these beauties, I had the Logitech Z-Cinema Advanced Surround Sound 2.1 Speaker System. These are just as good without the hassle of USB attached USB controlled design. I am very happy with my speakers. I cant tear myself away from my computer now. I will definitely consider future products from Klipsch.
Enormous Clear Bass, and clear mids/highs February 13, 2010 Leon H. Hartsock (Tampa) Purchased the Klipsch THX ProMedia 2.1's .
The bass is ridiculous. You really only need 1/3 of the sub power to be happy but if you want to jam out power up the sub. The speakers are clear and loud. They have large magnets nearly the size of the outter cone. I've tested these against Lab tech pulse speakers/sub ($35), The Speaker Companies high end 2.1 system ($40), and my home theater bose/polk $1000, Nakamichi Wall System 2.1 ($1,000), JVC Executive Stainless Steel System ($350).
These Klipsch's put out more bass than all of my systems with the exception of my home theater system (350watt PSW12 sub). The clarity at loud volume comes close to my Nakamichi Wall system which is $1,000. For $100 bucks you definately get your money's worth. My stainless steel executive JVC system can't match the wattage of Klipsch but the mids and high's are slightly clearer. The Labtech and The Speaker company PC 2.1 systems don't hold a candle in any respect. You have to compare these speakers to high end home audio systems.
They are also constructed very well. My only complaint is the power switch is on the Sub not on the speaker. This makes it a little bit of a pain to get to if you want to turn off the power.
Quality speakers, will blow you! February 8, 2010 Octane (Henderson, NV) For the price offered here at amazon I find the Kilpsch Promedia 2.1 a good value. They have held up to everything I've thrown at them, whether it be music, games or movies, all without distortion. I wish that the power cable was modular just in case it ever needs replacing, but alas it is attached, my only other complaint is that the power switch is located on the back of the sub-swoofer which normally sits on the floor, not very convenient to get to. Other than those minor complaints, overall its a quality built product. My only regret is that i didn't purchase it earlier.
